Choosing your Wedding Photographer

Hey gorgeous! Congrats! If you are reading this, you are likely planning your wedding because he put a ring on it! Yay!

I have so many things to talk to you about, but the absolute first is about choosing your photographer…of course I just went there!

Do you know the style of images you want hanging in your home? The cliché “light and airy” the “dark and moody” or the “clean and classic with a real life feel.” This is a super important decision! Why, do you ask? Well, because the style you love is the photographer with that editing style that you should be looking for. Most photographers have spent LOTS of time finding their niche and perfecting their style of editing, and to ask them to change that is like…well…it is like asking your Mom to change the hairstyle she has had for the last 10-15 years. Ain’t gon’ happen, y’all…and if it does then you need to have some concerns…p.s.., not talking about your Mom anymore. If your photographer is willing to quickly change their editing style to appease you then they may not be established enough to care how they edit, and you are asking for all sorts of inconsistencies.

Most of us photogs will tell you that we aren’t chameleons and while we are creatives, we do have our own styles of editing that we love. So just remember this little tiny blog post out in the vast world of the inter-webs and make sure that you are looking for a photographer that has an editing style that you LOVE before you even inquire! This will keep you from having unrealistic expectations and ultimately will get you images from your perfect day that you will absolutely adore for many years to come!

So happy planning to you, my dear! You are going to make a STUNNING bride!!!

This is perfect! There is a very well known photographer in my area that EVERYONE uses, but I just don’t like the editing style of her images. There is nothing wrong with them, they just are not my style. You have summed up perfectly what I needed to hear!
