Nashville Engagement Session
Derrick and Emily met in the 5th grade, um, does it get any sweeter than that?! Ok, ok, they didn’t start dating until college, but the fact that they have known each other for so long just made me a puddle!
It was a very cold, February morning that they met with me on Belmont University’s campus for their engagement session, and they absolutely rocked it. The chemistry and love that these two cupcakes have was just spilling over, and I am so glad that I was the one to capture these sweet memories for them!
Both from Lascassas, Tennessee they grew up playing basketball together and going on vacations together with their families, but it wasn’t until their senior year of college that they began dating.
Derrick picked out this ring all on his own! He did SO good! Just look at this beauty!
So how did he propose? Well, he completely took Emily by surprise! The night he popped the question, he was supposed to be at a Tennessee Titans game, and she was supposed to be going to a birthday dinner for her grandmother…or so she thought. To her surprise, he was in her grandparents barn waiting for her. The barn had been fully decorated with beautiful lights, flowers, and pictures of the two of them throughout life and their relationship! Both of their families were there and she was beyond surprised! In her own words, “It was absolutely perfect!”
They will be getting married October 2020 at Sugar Foot Farms in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Emily has chosen her colors to be dusty rose, fog gray, and ivory…and I cannot wait to see it! If it is as beautiful as these two are both inside and out, then it will be a showstopper of an event!
Without further ado, here are more images from Derrick and Emily’s Nashville engagement session at Belmont University!
